Game Copy Wizard - My Personal Review
Lots of people that play regularly on their Xbox 360 will have already heard about the Game Copy wizard. If you haven't heard about it then you are probably wondering what it does.
More to the point, you probably want to know the answer to the most important question of all, which is whether or not it works? Do you have a backed up copied disc burnt that you can boot in your console at the end of it? Well after taking a look at the Game Copy Wizard and using it myself, here are my findings.
Ease of installation
The installation went through without any issues as the actual file size to download was small enough to make the whole process over very quickly.
Ease of Use
Using the on screen interface is no problem at all as the Game Copy Wizard is very simple and self explanatory. It is no different from software that us popular for backing up original DVDs so there is no technical knowledge needed. You also don't have to have any physical modification or software plug-ins on your Xbox 360. The games I have backed up have worked on older versions of the console as well as my newest which has the Kinect connected. All I had to do to make the copies was to rip the disc on to my PC which the software made easy and then write the image on to a disc. I thought it may not work because the whole thing seemed too easy but when I tried out the game it just booted up but that was on the original Xbox.
The fact that I had a dual layer writer which is a cheap USB connected type meant that making copies of my Xbox 360 games was possible and this is what I had to try next.
OK, so it worked and now that my old console had survived and was working fine so I decided to try a new game on my new system with a dual layer disc up to capacity. For this I ripped a brand new copy of Call of Duty Black Ops and tried it out. It worked straight away with no issues and played seamlessly and it also played online too!
I have since tried other games like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and tried it out at a friend’s house to make sure it worked on an older version of the Xbox 360 which was pre-RROD (red ring of death). There were no problems with this whatsoever and now at last I have a way to copy not just Xbox, Xbox 360 but all console games in one software package. My brother used it to back up a PS3 game and to write it with a Blueray burner and that went without any problem either.
By far the best feature of Game Copy Wizard game ripper is that you can now copy games for all consoles without ever having to tamper with the console or its firmware. Perfect copies are here after all these years of trying unreliable chips and harming my beloved games machines. You don't even have to put a disc in the console to boot some other software first they just boot like originals every time.
My Opinion
Well in case you hadn't guessed already, I have been very impressed with Game Copy Wizard I can see me using it for a very long time. In terms of how it operates I would give it full marks because it's easy to use and quick too. The fact that the interface is very simple is the reason it is so small to download so it may not look the best but it is good at what is does.
